BOUND 37 A

“Bound 37 a”– acrylic on wood panel – 36″ x 36” – circa 2008

this is the final iteration of this painting. i wanted it to have a distressed feel and look, i wanted the frame to match this so i took it out to the parking lot of my apartment at the time and began tossing it in the air, scraping it across the asphalt. i banged it around for about 10 minutes then called it a day. it was done.

as for the subject matter: a form, bound by abstracted ropes and dissected shapes, its mask fallen to reveal an empty void. just another freestyle.
