BOWLEG

On this spot – 1996

The photograph is a google map screenshot of the corner in which the following exchange took place, taken from notes I wrote at the time:

“Mister Bowleg” stole a big husky dog from someone’s yard.

he ties his dirty mutt to a shopping cart filled with assorted junk.

Mister bowleg hollers at dogface from across the street.

Bowleg tells me that he witnessed dogface rape a crack whore. Bowleg says he cant stand the fact that dogface is bragging about this.

From across the street, I hear dogface (who’s real name is Ray,) yell,

“you just a punk old man.”

I head home

almost 30 years later I can still see Dogface’s one good eye, beaming down hard toward bowleg and me from across the street as he pushes his buggy towards his next destination.
